Our coaches (Coaches in Running Fitness - CiRF), leaders (Leaders in Running Fitness - LiRF) and Visually Impaired (VI) Guide Runners are all trained, licenced and insured by England Athletics and all have valid DBS checks. Note that all of our Coaches, Leaders and VI Guide Runners give their time to help club members voluntarily. We're always looking for new leaders so if you'd like to give something back to the club and become a Leader, please get in touch with one of the Coaches
Run Leaders (LiRFs)
Our England Athletics trained Run Leaders lead and back mark all of our run routes on Wednesday evenings to ensure that you know where you are running and that no one gets left behind. They are there for your safety and you should listen to their pre-run briefings and follow any instructions given by them before and during your run. They may offer advice or opinions on all things running-related if you ask them but please be aware that apart from the three Run Leaders who are also Coaches, Run Leaders are not qualified coaches and as such, their opinions and advice are their own and are not formal advice.
Our England Athletics trained Coaches (CiRFs) lead performance sessions and circuit training sessions for all members to help improve your fitness and running technique. They are qualified to give running and performance advice and can also write you training plans for your target races.
