Latest date for postal entries is now WEDNESDAY 14th September!
Here at TRC we’re very proud of the Charles Stanley City of Truro Half Marathon and are pleased to confirm that this year’s event will be held on Sunday 18th September, so be sure to put it in your race diary! The race is sponsored by Charles Stanley and is part of the Cornish Glass and Glazing Grand Prix series, so we expect to see record numbers of local affiliated club runners at the start line, but, as ever, the race is open to anyone to register and, as there’s no limit to the number of participants, everyone is guaranteed a place.
Our Charity
This year we’re very pleased to be donating 50% of any profits to Mind, a national charity close to the hearts of some of our club members. If you’re also a supporter of the charity, why not come and race with us? You don’t need to be part of a running club to take part and if you wish to fund-raise for Mind independently, the charity offer excellent support under their ‘do your own thing‘ challenge and here at TRC we’d support you by adding a link to your fundraising page.
The Course and Spectating
The race will follow last year’s course, which received favourable reviews from local clubs, although this year it will be starting at the slightly earlier time of 9.30 to avoid minor traffic issues. The start and finish will be on the Piazza at Lemon Quay, where there’s plenty of space for family and friends to see you set off and return triumphant! There are also plenty of places en route for spectators; good spots might include Devoran or Penelewey, where you can retire to the The Old Quay Inn or The Punch Bowl and Ladle for a spot of lunch after all your cheering and waving!
The route can be printed off on Ordnance Survey Getamap, where all the footpaths are clearly marked:

Prizes and Race Mementos
The first 600 people to register will receive a well earned ‘goodie bag’ and race memento, an engraved travel mug, at the end of the 13.1m race and there will be presentations of prizes on the Piazza, which include
- a voucher for Cornwall Running Store and a pair of K-Swiss Running Trainers for both the first three men and first three women to cross the line
- prizes for the first three winners (both men and women) in the various age categories
- prizes for men and women’s teams
- new perpetual trophies for 2011 and
- a prize for the first local runner home!

Volunteer
If you can’t run the race, but want to be part of the event why not join in and volunteer? There are a number of ways you can help out, but we especially need marshals along the course. For further information about what’s involved in marshalling please email Kelvin, our Marshal Co-ordinator, who’ll be pleased to help you. You can also complete the volunteer form below where you can see the list of all areas we’re recruiting!
Our Sponsors
This event could not go ahead without the generous support of our sponsors. As well as our main sponsor Charles Stanley we would like to thank the following organisations for their donations and commitment to this local race:
