Cup Winners

You're a winner!

Each year at the AGM in July we award our annual trophies to club members. The Most Improved Runners of the Year (male and female) are chosen by the club’s head coach; Runners of the Year (male and female) are chosen by the Chairman and the Clubperson of the Year is voted for by the membership. The trophies are ‘perpetual’, so each year the winners return the cups to be engraved before the AGM and passed on to the new winners.

2011

This year the trophies were awarded to:
Most Improved Runners: Andrew Langdon who’s running well again after serious surgery, and Diane Boardman who thought she’d never run more than 10 minute miles and ran the Manchester 10k in 8.5 minute miles!
Runners of the Year: Tony Berry who in his 70′s is still beating most spring chickens – and entering the record books to boot, and Anne Maskell runner, triathlete and duathlete, who’s endurance, speed, competitive spirit and dedication inspire us all.
Clubperson of the year: Stephanie Boon, for building and maintaining the club’s website.

NB before 2005 only one cup was awarded for Most Improved Runner (male/female)
