Renewal: Notice to Members

Subscriptions 2011

The subscription is £30.00 (students in full time education: £10.00) and is due and payable on 1st January annually.  In addition, members attending club sessions (Wednesdays and/or Mondays) pay £0.50 per week.

Paid-up members

Fully paid up members are entitled to the full benefits of membership.

Overdue members

Members that have not paid their annual subscription are still entitled to the full benefits of membership up to 28th February (i.e. two months grace).  Membership lapses on 1st March if the full subscription is not paid by that date.

Lapsed membership

Lapsed members will be deleted from the Club’s UKA database as at 1st April when their affiliation ends, and expelled from membership without further notice.

Benefits of full membership

These include affiliation to England Athletics (which provides certain Liabilities Insurance cover whilst training with the Club, and taking part in events as an affiliated club member – details obtainable from the Secretary).  It also includes Associate membership of Truro Rugby Football Club (which accounts for £25 of the annual subscription, the other £5 going to UKA). The UKA affiliation year starts on 1 April. Affiliated members receive an England Athletics Competition Licence (card) at some time later in the year.

Lapsed members attending training with the Club are entitled at the Committee’s discretion to limited insurance cover provided they are signed in as Visitors and pay the current weekly subscription.

Payment

The Committee requests that payment is made, either by post or on a Wednesday Club night to the Membership Secretary before reminders have to be posted at the end of January, please.

Cheques payable to Truro Running Club.

Please complete and return the simplified renewal form (available from the Membership Secretary) so that our records may be kept up to date.

If you do not wish to renew

Members not wishing to renew their membership are asked to resign as at 31st December, in writing or by email, addressed to the Membership Secretary, whilst their subscription is still paid  up.

Data Protection Act

Information on each member (including name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth and age, and subscription payments) is held on behalf of the Club Committee on a computer database for use by club officials in all aspects of club administration including the supply of data to UK (England) Athletics for membership registration purposed, but will not be passed to any other third party without the prior written consent of the member.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – UK Athletics ANTI DOPING POLICY

The attention of Members is drawn to the “Club’s Anti Doping (AD) Fact Sheet”, published by UK Athletics,  copies of which are displayed on the Club notice board and in the members weekly attendance book. In view of the possibility of in-competition drug testing, & members strict liability, particular attention is drawn to the section headed “Therapeutic Use Exemptions”, and the necessary procedure for registering medically prescribed use of certain asthma control & similar inhalers and other prescribed drugs on the prohibited list. Note that registration of prescribed use must be done and accepted by UKA before the medication is used or immediately its use begins.

Marshalling commitment: Club Members are reminded of the rule change approved at the EGM on 29th November 2006, the purpose of which is to ensure adequate marshalling of events, particularly the major club event of the year, Truro Half Marathon. The new rule states: “The Committee reserves the right to refuse a member’s entry in the Truro Half Marathon”.
